Magenta Research’s MultiView™ STx Cat5 UTP Transmitter offers a cost-effective solution for applications requiring video only or video plus L/R summed audio distribution. Fully compatible with MultiView receivers, distribution amplifiers and matrix switches, the STx can transmit any type of analog video—RGBHV, YUV, Y Pb Pr, HDTV, Y/C, composite, S-video, NTSC, PAL, SECAM, RGBS or RGsB.

As with any MultiView transmitter, the “married” (not “up to”) resolution/distance specifications are based upon the accompanying MultiView receiver, which are offered in four distance tiers—250 feet/76 meters (1600x1200), 500 feet/152 meters (2048x1536), 1000 feet/304 meters (2048x1536) and 1500 feet/457 meters (1600x1200). Receiver distance ratings can be surpassed when using lower resolutions and non-RGBHV formats; especially composite video in which case an extra 500 ft. (152m) can be expected.

Designed and manufactured to provide extremely long life cycles, the STx features full ESD protection on all circuits as well as an MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) rating of 100,000 hours. STx transmitters can also be rack-mounted in groups of four (1U) or eight (2U) when using the appropriate Magenta Research rack mount kit.

For applications that require serial distribution, stereo audio, the routing of AC coupled video signals, a local monitor output at the transmitter or the ability to cascade transmitters, the UTx Universal Transmitter should be utilized.
